Winnie Ma was born in Burma, formerly known as Myanmar, and was raised in the Bay Area. She grew up in a Christian-centric household where she was led to develop her faith and trust in God. Winnie graduated from Golden Gate University, earning a B.S. in Accounting. Through the years, prior to working at New Beginnings Community Church (NBCC), Winnie held various progressively growing accounting/finance positions from general Staff Accountant and Accounting Manager to Controller with several startup technology and pharmaceutical companies.
Winnie has been married to her best friend and college sweetheart, Danny, for over 30 years. She is the proud mother of two adult children, Nathan and Hillary. Winnie loves to spend time with them whenever they visit. Winnie enjoys going on walks with her faithful canine companion, Pebbles; traveling; and trying out new restaurants. She loves meeting people, and she currently serves as a Facilitator and Host for an NBCC Life Group.
Winnie’s journey with the Lord Jesus Christ is a work in progress. Her faith in Christ, whom she counts on, keeps her on the right path with God. As she obeys God and leaves all consequences to Him, her faith grows every day as she encounters God faithfully working in her life.
God continues to work in an amazing way. After taking one year off from her life-long career in the corporate accounting, God has open up a new and exciting door for her at NBCC where she can use her business skills and serve Him at the same time. She feels very blessed to have the privilege of working together with sincere people who are serving the Lord, Jesus Christ.
